Having been a senior partner for over 20 years with national tier one firm, Minter Ellison, David has practised in a range of areas and is enjoying the freedom of being able to use his wide range of skill sets in commercial law, property law, and litigation to meet the needs of Townsville’s more diverse client base.

David is highly regarded for his expertise in property law. He has been involved in a number of Queensland’s highest profile and most complex property development projects, including integrated tourism resort developments and innovative residential precincts built around information technology networks.

During his time on the Gold Coast, David developed a particular expertise in the area of community title law and structuring complex stage strata title developments including layered community tile schemes and volumetric titles incorporating building management statements.

David has advised listed property developers in entering into joint venture and development agreements between developers and landowners which resulted in the delivery of projects ranging from small-scale residential developments to large mixed-use developments.

As a result of David’s involvement with the Property Council of Australia and the Urban Development Institute of Australia where he held executive positions, David was asked to lead industry delegations in various meetings with State Government Ministers involved in reviewing the Body Corporate and Community Management Act (“BCCM”) and led the preparation of submissions on behalf of both the Property Council of Australia (“PCA”) and the Urban Development Institute of Australia (“UDIA”) during reviews of the BCCM Act from 2009 – 2013.
